2015 Peace Concert Series Opens January 17-18 in Banteay Meanchay

The U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh is pleased to announce the fourth annual Peace Concert series, which will begin in Banteay Meanchay province on January 17-18.  This year’s Peace Concert series will feature some of Cambodia’s most popular musicians and comedians, including Meas Sok Sophea, Sokun Nisa, Khemara Sereymun, Chhorn Sovannareach, and Neay Koy.  The performers will entertain the crowds with songs and comic routines while encouraging discussion of themes related to a peaceful society, including anti-violence, religious tolerance, and conflict resolution.

The concerts will take place on Saturday and Sunday evenings in a number of provinces throughout the country.  All concerts are free and open to the public.    

Below is a schedule of events in the Peace Concert series. All concerts are held on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6:30-10:30 pm: 

17-18 Jan:  Provincial Hall (Banteay Meanchey Province)

31 Jan- 1 Feb:  Moung Reussei District High School (Battambang Province)

14-15 Feb:  Kampong Chhnang Stadium (Kampong Chhnang Province)

28 Feb – 1 Mar:  Pursat Stadium  (Pursat Province)

14-15 Mar: Memot Memorial High School (Tboung Khmum Province)

28-29 Mar: Chey Yo Commune Hall, Chamkar Leu District (Kampong Cham Province)
