Registration for COVID-19 Vaccines
The Cambodian government has provided the following guidance for foreign residents of Cambodia, including American citizens, to request a COVID-19 vaccination:
- The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT) is responsible for registering foreign nationals holding an E-class Ordinary Visa and work permits issued by MLVT. A valid passport, valid visa, and work permit are required to register.
- Local authorities are responsible for registering all other foreign residents. A valid passport and valid visa are required to register.
Please refer to this announcement (3 pages) for further details.
American citizens seeking vaccination are encouraged to contact their employer (for E-class Ordinary Visa holders) or their local sangkat/commune authorities in accordance with this announcement. American citizens are not required to register with the Embassy and do not require a letter from the Embassy to be eligible for vaccination. American citizens may want to consider having a printed copy of this announcement in their possession when registering with Cambodian authorities and/or seeking vaccination.
Foreign nationals who are not residents or do not have valid visas are ineligible to receive vaccinations under this guidance.
Curfews and Travel Restrictions
In addition to the current curfew in Phnom Penh and prohibition on all travel between provinces, Cambodian authorities have announced the following curfews, forbidding most types of gatherings and travel during curfew hours:
- Banteay Meanchey province has imposed a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. through April 20, 2021.
- Tboung Khmum province has imposed a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through April 20, 2021.
Individuals who violate these curfew measures may be subject to punishment in accordance with recent laws implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
American citizens are advised to closely monitor any announcements by local governments regarding travel restrictions, curfews, and other measures related to the outbreak response.
