The Phnom Penh government has announced that the curfew effective from April 1 to April 14 will be extended for an additional two weeks until April 28.
Curfew hours are from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The curfew suspends in-person restaurant and food stall service and forbids most types of gatherings and travel within the city during curfew hours.
Exceptions to restrictions during curfew hours include the following:
- Travel for emergency medical need;
- Gatherings with family members;
- Travel for work for those businesses permitted to remain open.
Individuals who violate these curfew measures may be subject to punishment in accordance with recent laws implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
American citizens are advised to closely monitor any announcements by local governments regarding details about travel restrictions, curfews, and other measures related to the outbreak response.
