May 2-4, 2016

Ambassador William Heidt‬’s trip was full of many exciting and informative activities. In addition to meetings with the Battambang and Pailin provincial governors, the Ambassador also met with Peace Corps Cambodia volunteers, an English Language Fellow, and Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (‪‎YSEALI‬) members at American Corner Battambang, Cambodia.

There were visits to a number of program sites that are receiving support from the U.S. government, such as demining organizations MAG (Mines Advisory Group) and The HALO Trust, the USAID Cambodia-funded HARVEST program, and a CDC HIV lab facility.

Before returning to Phnom Penh, Ambassador Heidt also visited the Battambang Museum and the Youth Development Service Center, an NGO located in his wife Sotie’s hometown in Krakor District, Pursat Province.
