Ambassador Heidt traveled to Takeo province to announce officially a 2016 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation grant of $121,745 to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.
This latest grant will help the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to document 24 important monuments from the 6th and 7th centuries in the provinces of Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Kampot, Prey Veng, Tbong Khmum, and Takeo.
The Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation is an initiative of the U.S. State Department that supports the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects, and forms of traditional cultural expression in more than 100 developing countries around the world, including Cambodia.
