Released on June 23, 2016

The first ever American Restaurant Week in Cambodia will take place from June 27 to July 4, which is Independence Day in the United States. In honor of this holiday, the U.S. Embassy has partnered with 20 select restaurants to bring a diverse array of American food to the Cambodian public.

During the week, participating restaurants in Phnom Penh will offer a wide range of discounts and special promotions. Customers at these restaurants can purchase different foods from across the United States – including traditional hamburgers, ice cream, Louisiana gumbo, Hawaiian dishes, Tex-Mex specialties, and high quality U.S. steak.

Participating restaurants include: Aloha Ono, Black Bambu, Botanico Wine and Beer Garden, Brooklyn Pizza and Bistro, Burger King, Cold Stone Creamery, Dairy Queen, Digby’s, Domino’s Pizza, the Exchange, Fatboy Sub ‘n’ Salad, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Lone Pine Café, Mike’s Burger House, New York Steakhouse, Ocean Prime Steakhouse, the Original Steakhouse, Swensen’s, and Taqueria Corona. Details of each restaurant’s promotions will be available at the restaurants and on their websites or Facebook pages.

In response to Cambodia’s rapid economic development, a growing number of U.S. companies and investors have come to open businesses in Cambodia. The food and hospitality industry in particular has been expanding due to increased demand from locals and tourists alike. U.S. companies are eager to serve the Cambodian people, who have demonstrated a growing appetite for American services and foods.
