Information Session on the 2019-2021 English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) – Application, Program Design, and Implementation

Deadline: August 23, 2019

The Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh will host an information session on the Recruitment of 2019-2021 English Access Microscholarship Program in Cambodia at the American Center of the U.S. Embassy on Thursday August 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. This information session will help prepare interested implementing partners for the English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) application process. This year, proposals for Access program in Kampot province are strongly encouraged. To be eligible for consideration, every applicant must be currently engaged in an English language teaching program. Interested implementing partners from not-for-profit organizations, public/private educational institutions or schools are eligible to apply for the program.

The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) is a global program supported by the U.S. Department of State. Access provides a foundation of English language skills to talented 13-20 years old from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through a two-year program of after-school classes and intensive sessions. Access gives participants English skills that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects. Since its inception in 2004, over 188,000 students in more than 80 countries have participated in the Access Program, including more than 1,400 in Cambodia with a total funding of more than 1.3 million U.S. dollar.

Registration:

To attend the information session, interested applicants are invited to email a short paragraph about their school/organization, stating why they are suitable for this program to the Public Affairs Section at PASExchanges@state.gov no later than August 23, 2019.  Only short-listed participants will be notified by the Public Affairs Section to confirm your registration in the information session.  Due to the limited space, registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.
