Under Secretary Novelli Met with Cambodian Entrepreneurs and Government Officials

Phnom Penh & Siem Reap
June 8-10, 2016

During her June 8-10 visit, the senior economic official at the U.S. Department of State, Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Catherine Novelli joined Ambassador William Heidt and senior Cambodian government officials for a helicopter tour of Prey Lang Forest, organized by USAID Cambodia’s Supporting Forests and Biodiversity Project.

She later met with Sok Chanda of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Acting Minister of Commerce H.E. Kem Sithan, and a diverse group of Cambodian women entrepreneurs.

Under Secretary Novelli also lent her expertise to a panel discussion on “Unlocking Cambodia’s Creative Economy,” which was live-streamed and still available for viewing on the Embassy’s Facebook page.

Finally, she was able to meet with our partners at the World Monuments Fund in Siem Reap to visit the U.S.-funded restoration of Phnom Bakheng Temple and other temples in the Angkor Park complex.
