U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia William Heidt will cut a ribbon to open a photo exhibit about the First Lady’s visit to the Kingdom that is on display at the hotel. The event provides an opportunity to celebrate the importance of the diplomatic relationships between the United States and Cambodia.
Fifty years ago, First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy visited Cambodia to fulfill her “youthful lifelong dream” of visiting the ancient ruins of Angkor. Her visit to Cambodia was covered then by the iconic American magazine “Life.”
The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m., November 14, at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh.
Members of the media wishing to cover the event are requested to contact Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy either calling 023 728258 or by email to ChreaV@state.gov.
