On May 24, the U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh Facebook page reached 500,000 page likes, joining just six other U.S. Missions worldwide. To celebrate this accomplishment, and to express our gratitude to the Cambodian people, the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh has arranged for four special tuk-tuks to offer free rides for five days to any location within a five-kilometer radius. The tuk-tuks can be identified by a special sign featuring the hashtag #USA500k.
U.S. Ambassador William E. Todd officially launched the tuk-tuk campaign via YouTube. The four tuk-tuks will be circulating throughout the city during peak hours but will be based at four principal locations: Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia on Preah Norodom Boulevard, the Royal University of Phnom Penh, the University of Health Sciences, and Wat Phnom. The public is invited to take selfies next to the tuk-tuks and send the photos to the Embassy at phnompenhtwitter@state.gov. The best photos will be featured on the Embassy’s social media sites.
