The U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, Westec Media Ltd, and the Motion Picture Association of Cambodia (MPAC) will jointly organize a workshop to mark World Intellectual Property Rights Day on April 27.
The event is intended to underscore the importance of upholding intellectual property rights around the world and to provide resources to the public and private sector regarding the protection of foreign and domestic copyright holders. The workshop is geared towards people who are involved with or affected by copyright law but it is free and open to any member of the press or public.
U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Julie Chung will deliver welcoming remarks and will be joined by speakers from the Cambodian government, the Motion Picture Association International, and the Motion Picture Association of Cambodia.
Members of the media are invited to cover the event, which will take place at the Sunway Hotel near Wat Phnom, on Monday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m.
