Young Cambodian Women in YSEALI were invited to U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh for a special panel discussion with the U.S. NGO WAKE: Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange entitled, The Women’s Leadership Breakfast: “Personal Branding for Women Leaders”. Members of WAKE – made up of accomplished businesswomen and executives from companies like Google, Oracle, and Salesforce – are in Cambodia for their Tech2Empower workshop. They had held workshops in the week on leadership with The Harpswell Foundation, Friends-International, and others. They also visited the Development Innovations Cambodia Lab, where the focus will continue to be on utilizing STEM to solve problems.
Joined by Deputy Chief of Mission Julie Chung – who gave the opening remarks – and Rebecca Black of USAID Cambodia, the women enjoyed light refreshments and engaged in passionate talks, that included hearing from YSEALI members about the challenges and opportunities facing professional women in Cambodia. The event then came to a close with a fun selfie session. The U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh would like to thank all of the members of WAKE for making this great event a success!
